This is just a general guideline for toasting coconut. You can toast as much or as little as you like.
- Place a skillet (the size of the skillet will depend on the amount of coconut that you are using) over medium low heat. Add shredded or flaked coconut in an even layer in skillet. Toast the coconut, stirring or flipping often, until it is lightly golden. Remove the skillet from the heat and continue stirring until it is toasted to your liking.
- That’s it. Now use the coconut in recipes, as a garnish or simply eat it out of hand.
